Company Types

Defining the types or categories of companies that you wish to track. For example:

You may well have your own definitions here. These should be defined in the Company Types table. Once they have been set, they can still be edited.

CAUTION! Whenever you are making global changes, there are consequences to reporting and unintended issues can arise. Contact the VT team if you are unsure.

The Company Types table is not linked from the menu as you will likely only need to consider it rarely. It can be reached here <your-domain>.venturetracker.net/company-types

If a specific record is not enabled, it will no longer show on the drop-down menus, for example, when adding a new company. However, it will still remain on any companies where that type has already been set. Setting enabled=false will also prevent that category from showing as a separate tab on the companies index page. Companies with a disabled company type will still be listed in the All Companies tab.

Within the table is a field called 'Display Order' 1). This is used to control the order of the tabs on the Companies index view (after the All Companies) tab. Smaller numbers appear first.

The underlying field is called tab_order if you need it for reporting purposes
